I spend an inordinate amount of time each day just talking photography, whether it be with an enthusiast or hobbyist at a wedding or someone who mailed me with a question or caught me on facebook chat – and I LOVE it!! Get me started and I can go on forever. I can think of no better way to spend a day. Throw in a glass of good wine and some tasty snacks and I am well and truly in heaven. But through all the chats two things have really struck me:
numero Uno, the sheer number of people out there who are into – or getting into – photography…
and numero dos, how frustrated many of you are because you’re just not getting the results you’re expecting to see.

Those two points make for an awful lot of frustration! Oi, yoi, yoi… So much of the frustration! It makes me sad, I tell ya. Many people seem to have a perfect idea in mind of what they want the picture to look like, but they struggle to translate that thought into a final image that they can take to the printer. Even more people are left feeling that they “must surely be missing something somewhere” and many folk just feel like it all goes to pot once they turn on the flash!

As you’ve probably realized, it can take a helluva lot of time and untold hours of Googling, reading and practice to master certain techniques or to get your head around some of the concepts, especially if you’re going at it all by your lonesome.

Well, I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to go at it all by yourself. I love talking photography and hosting a workshop or giving a 1-on-1 session gives me loads of time to do exactly that – talk ya ear off! YAY! And then of course there is also something in it for you! “YAY”, I hear you say? indeed… YAY! You pick a topic and I will most gladly and willingly share with you everything that has taken me years to learn – every tip, trick, sneaky work around and handy DIY must-have. I’ll try my level best to transform you into something resembling a flash wielding super human, trained in a secret lab under a mountain. On completion of the course, I will also issue you with a cool call-sign… like “Night Hawk”! OK I’m just kidding on that last one – you’ll have to pick your own call sign, because I’ve already got dibs on “Night Hawk”!
