FAQ

Herewith a growing list of frequently asked questions along with equally frequently given answers. Hopefully it helps you get a better idea of what I do and how I work. Shoot me a mail if you cant find what you’re looking for!

Can we meet with you before we decide to book?
Absolutely! Most people do. I try to do consultations after hours, during the week… But I’m pretty flexible. As a rule, I try to do them in the northern suburbs, but I’ll travel for a small fee or at least try to meet you half way. I’ll bring some prints, albums, package info, my notebook and a smile. We can have a chat and get to know each other over a cup of coffee while you page through the goods and get a feel for my style and my approach.

What equipment do you use?
I shoot Canon, all the way. I have some of the best gear available on the market and enough of it to ensure that, should anything break, I have a quality piece of backup equipment to fall back on.

How much time will you need for the couple portraits on our wedding day?
As much time as you’re willing to give me, is the easy answer! But realistically I try to keep it down to between 45min and a hour — mindful as we are of the fact that you don’t want your guests left to their own devices for too long.

What do we need to give you, in terms of a plan for the day and the order of events?
If you already have everything planned out to the last detail, I’d love to get a copy of the plan…. regardless, I’ll always try to meet with you at some point during the last few weeks leading up to the main event to discuss the order of events. Often – and if at all possible – I’ll suggest we meet at your wedding venue. I’ll listen to how you envisage the day playing out, what’s important to you and what you expect from me. I’ll offer some insights, ideas and advice based on my experience with these things and if you didn’t already have a plan drawn up, I’ll create one and e-mail it to you after the meeting. As flexible as I am, there are certain things that I just can’t control (I was NOT happy when I found out, believe me!). The Sun, for instance, is very set in it’s ways and I can’t do too much about when it sets… But I can tell you that the best time for photos will be during that magical hour just before sunset. Be that as it may, we can discuss all of this when we meet!
