Sunel & George

disclaimer: I’m going to try my level best to avoid making any corny Braveheart quips, but I just can’t promise anything! Plus I was at the business end of a real life mooning by about 16 guys in dresses kilts, so I think I bloody-well deserve some license here.

Sunel and George – who is of decidedly Scottish persuasion (you can tell by the kilt) – got married at Clouds Estate near Paarl. Gorgeous setting! What with all the mountains and winelands and such. BEEEEAAUUTIFUL! Made even more memorable by the haunting sound of bagpipes ringing out over the mountains, announcing Sunel’s entrance as she was led in by the marching piper… The sound of war and honor and tradition… oh my hat, I get goose bumps just thinking about it!

Now, seeing as I do what I do, you might say that I get to see a few more weddings than the average Joe. But every wedding has SOMETHING that stands out for me. Something that sets this wedding apart from the previous. Generally with every wedding you have a beautiful setting, the bride looks as pretty as can be, all glowing and what not – the groom all dapper – everything and everyone is made up and decorated and looking like a million bucks… which is kinda to be expected, really. Sort of par for the course. But Apart from this every couple and every wedding has its own *magic* — Something that stands out and stays with you.

And so it was with this wedding… Stunning setting, Beautiful bride and everyone looking their best! And what of the MAGIC?? …it was provided in spades by Sunel and George and the raw emotion of the occasion! It was in those intimate little stolen moments together, the shared laughter, the admiration in a look, the passion in a kiss, the odd tear and the comforting caress that was sure to follow… and I have the pictures to show for it! So before we get to the gallery and the pictures of Sunel looking breathtakingly beautiful and the guys mooning me, I’m going to feature just a few of those little moments I had the pleasure of witnessing… and let it never be said that I am not a big old softy, romantic at heart!

Note: none of these shots were staged or posed in any way and with some of them I doubt they even knew I was there. case in point:
a moment alone after phoning George’s parents, who couldn’t be there on the day…

Then some fun while we wait…

An emotional speach by Sunel’s brother…

a speach that also had a lighter side…

all the while with George by her side, of course… sharing…

Laughing…

Toasting…

Loving…

then amidst the chaos of the party, finding a moment alone in a packed room…

…and then dance like noone is watching!

and then one of my personal favorites of the night…
